It is good to report that this formula is beginning to grow in what is it's first season.

The race division most recently have appeared at Coventry and several cars debuted last Saturday for the first of three dates at Skegness and were very well received - they appear again 23rd July and in August at the summer holiday mid week events. All feedback has been positive with virtually total agreement that once the cars reach double figures they will be excellent.

It is hoped to trial them on transponders at Skegness to demonstrate the speds these cars attain.

At least another two are expected out shortly and F1 #45 Alan Scothern looks set to be a future recruit with a chassis underway and engine procured.

Already it can be said that the first season has been a success thus far however, to ensure we can get a fixturelistout early for 2010 we need to convert those still `thinking' about entering into getting on track - Procuring dates for 2009 has been understandably `ad-hoc' given the infancy of the project - 10/12+ cards will certainly be more appealling to promoters and help us organise a balanced 2010 calendar with some meaningful titles.

UK Modifieds now have their own website, its work in progress but more and more details are being added all the time

There is a shipment of cars arriving from the USA in January, these cars have been bought which will see the count of drivers competing into double figures, currently there are 3 of the Finnikin family racing these cars in 2010, there are also the two hire cars available to race also.

Charlie Wheelton has also done a self build and is capable of building more cars

Find the site at www.ukmodifieds.co.uk

Think they need to find 20 plus before people even bother to look at them, i hope they do though.

We have supported this division as much as possile in 2009 - The formula has committed to 10 cars on track by the start of 2010 - even Alan Scothern has one [ ex F1 racer ]!

This has the makings of a good formula as you say when it reaches a critical mass - Progress has probably been slower in the current economic climate and there is also chicken and egg' - promoters will run them if there are sufficient cars - the formula will only get enough competitors if there are dates and confidence that it is not a 7 day wonder!

Progress is being made.
