Steph

I'm still having problems. I've just tried again and it's not available. It seems to be a problem in the evenings as I can access usually ok during the day.

Question HI STEPH!

Just tried it again and it's OK at the moment (unless it's a fluke!)

Assuming you're on Windows....

Click Start, Run....

Type this in the box that appears

ipconfig /flushdns

Press return.

See if that helps.

This problem appears to be sporadic. In a morning I can access the site fine, but like now, in the afternoon/evening it's unavailable.

Question

The problem with getting users to change their biscuit settings (or whatever its called) is that for someone who is just browsing the site off the back of an ad in the paper etc and is just looking at the possibility researching more info, they aren't go to bother with all that faffing around if they can't access the site.

Wouldn't it better to ensure the site was accessable to all, all the time?

The domain startrax.info has got two DNS servers listed for it, and the first one on the list is currently unavailable. This might be part of the problem.

I generally add the DNS servers by their IP address, rather than their domain name, otherwise you're relying on another DNS translation, which itself might be prone to problems.

would that be the IP address that the site is hosted on? do you put two ip addy's in as there are two nameservers, or just one?
