| Just a short note to thank everyone, drivers, mechanics, supporters for contributing to a hugely succesful Sheffield Battle of Britain yesterday.
It didn't just rain, it hammered it down yet the crowd was UP on 2006!
A lot of people, drivers and fans travelled enormous journeys.
The goodwill and handshaking in the bar after made it all worthwhile!
TEAM STINKBRIDGE again turned out in force with immaculate cars and as one of them said, for the second year this has been the Michael `Totty' Barber Memorial - and for the second year it has persisted it down, the comment was said `Totty will be sat up there sending the rain down and looking at all us idiots getting blathered!'
I am pleased to confirm that the TOTTY MEMORIAL TROPHY [It's huge!] will once again feature as part of BATTLE OF BRITAIN 2008 which will again take place the second Sunday in May SUNDAY 11th May 12.30.pm.
Don't forget Brampton has re-opened as in it's original format where a lot of these drivers originated - Yesterday was cancelled at Brampton - but racing takes place next Sunday at 1.pm and most Sundays at 1.pm Their big meeting of the season is the BIG KEV Memorial on Sunday 17th June which is worth noting in your diary - 2 Litre Teams.
Once again, thank you to everyone involved including staff and Simon Bennion and Stu Kearsley. They worked hard to get the meeting finished by 3.55.pm - by 5.pm you could have power boated around OWLERTON!
TSB have intimiated they may be at Belle Vue for the Teams on 12th August and TERMINATOR 30th Sept and Nutty Nige has said he will try to get at least two BEARS to BV on the 30th.
Last - but not least thanks to Martin Ford and team for their HARD work in ensuring everything was ready by 9.am yesterday morning, a grelling task given the weather conditions and had taken down 50% of the fence in driving rain by around 5.45.pm! |

| Interesting to note that this banger only meeting started after 12.30pm and was rapped up for 5 to 4. Not bad. Some food for thought for stock car fans who moan about the clear up times for banger racing _________________ That waskly wabbit |
